On route to Uganda, a chance encounter with Shistri, a young teacher who has escaped her sheltered existence in Nepal, sets Doug on a journey that will open his eyes to a wider world. Though the two live separate lives, their paths cross again in tragic circumstances, and as they begin to share their struggles adjusting to an unfamiliar world, they grow closer and closer. With their time in Uganda coming to an end, they must decide whether they can make a life for themselves, or if the call of home is too strong.
