Book excerpt: The death of ignorant atheism effectively shows atheism to be false. In this book, James Duncan seeks to clear up the misconceptions associated with atheism and belief in God, and draw attention to the fact that the true meaning of atheism is virtually unknown to the general public. Most people are unaware of the fact that there are actually two different groups of people with completely different beliefs who both identify themselves as 'atheists'. The first and most common group are those who are simply unaware of the true philosophical understanding of the term "God", and therefore profess to atheists out of ignorance. The second type are those who know that atheism is unworkable, but deny the existence of a creator for their own private reasons. This book demonstrates how the most common arguments in favour of atheism cannot withstand simple logical analysis.
