Book excerpt: My previous book about the author Carlos Castaneda (Making Sense of the Life and Works of Carlos Castaneda, F. Lawrence Fleming, published 2018.) was an attempt to show that, although evidence appears to show that Castaneda did actually work with a Yaqui Indian sorcerer, the publications concerning his fieldwork were largely fraudulent. In this present book I shall attempt to show what sort of person the character “don Juan” in the books by Carlos Castaneda may have been in real life, and how his remarkable personal philosophy can be inferred from what I assert is Castaneda's grossly corrupted version of the teachings of Don Juan in his published works.
