From then on her life becomes a struggle for survival as she becomes a single mother of three children and has no support from the father. She dreams of a better life for herself and the children who suffer from malnutrition and other ailments. She also becomes sick and on the verge of dying, recovers and is able to make her dreams of a better life a reality, as she comes to America.
