I thought by accepting the treatment, at some point, he would see that what he was doing was hurting me and it would force him to change, but sadly, that never happened. I watched myself change as a woman, mother, daughter, and friend into a person I didn’t even recognize. I asked the military and those around me for help, but my cries repeatedly went unnoticed.
