It also presents a systematic sociolinguistic analysis of ideologies of Global English by focusing on production and reproduction of language ideologies and dialectics between a global language and a local context. First, it provides an integrative analysis on the relationship among language ideology, attitudes and policies for obtaining an insightful and comprehensive picture of language ecology, which is significantly affected by language contact. Second, it presents a creditable methodology by incorporating research methods from different traditions. Third, it suggests a baseline for future language planning and policies in South Korea. Mainly, this study attempts to investigate psychosociology of a speech community and its cognitive consequences on language behaviors and representations.
