Book excerpt: An experimental project was established in 1957 at a site about 20 kilometres north-west of Nakusp, British Columbia, to study the effects of partial cutting on complex stands in the interior cedar-hemlock zone. This report presents results observed over the first 40 years of the experiment and updates the 15-year results reported by Thompson (1977). Results are presented for individual trees & the entire stand with regard to growth, mortality, and stand development in response to three partial cutting treatments: improvement cut, diameter-limit cut, and salvage cut.
