He learns to match Steve's pace when walking or going up and down stairs, bring Steve his cane and help Steve get "unstuck" if he freezes up or gets stuck in a corner. The text is geared for young readers ages 6-8, as well as for parents to read to younger children. It also presents an opportunity for children to learn about Parkinson's Disease, which is the most common degenerative neurological disorder and afflicts some one million Americans, including 1% of persons 60 years of age and older.
