(NIST) defines cloud computing as a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of computing resources, such as networks and servers that can be quickly engaged with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. In Dec. 2010, the Federal Chief Info. Officer (CIO) required the Federal Government to shift to a "Cloud First" policy. In July 2012, the Department of Defense (DOD) CIO issued the DOD Cloud Computing Strategy to accelerate the DOD adoption of cloud computing and take advantage of its benefits. The strategy provides elements intended to foster adoption of cloud computing and establish a DOD cloud infrastructure. The objective of this report was to determine whether DOD effectively planned and executed a strategy for implementing cloud computing. Tables. This is a print on demand report.
