The Congressional Record first started in 1873 and is still published every time Congress is in session. The Record is the official recordings of the proceedings and debates of the U.S. Congress. It consists of the Daily Digest, House section, Senate section, and Extension of Remarks, all of which provide public proceedings and debates with actual words spoken from both the floor and government officials.
