Students’ today need more than simple knowledge-based content. They need to leave high school with 21st century skills that will allow them to succeed beyond the realm of education. This project explores the need for critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration in the classroom and discusses how inquiry-based learning can fit that need. Inquiry-based learning provides the avenue for acquisition of content as well as development of said skills. The project includes a project-based inquiry unit as well as rubrics to assess 21st century skills.
