Book excerpt: ON 2 March 1982, an intensive cultural resources survey was conducted by the Environmental Resources Section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, over approximately 22 acres of croplands of an 80 acre permit area. Approximately 60 acres of the area is low woodlands and 25 acres classified as wetlands. The area is located in Township 12N, Range 3E, E1/2, SE1/4 of Section 31 and SW1/4, SW1/4 of Section 32, and Township 11N, Range 3E, NW1/4, NW1/4 of Section 5 and E1/2, NE1/4, NE1/4 of Section 6, Poinsett County, Arkansas. A literature search and a pedestrian survey failed to locate any cultural indicators or remains.
