Book excerpt: This book is an artifact and journal of Khoa Vu's personal work on Grayscale, a master of architecture thesis completed at Harvard Graduate School of Design in Spring 2019, advised by professor Preston Scott Cohen.The book is 264 pages in total and structured in three parts. Chapter I is a comprehensive journal of thoughts, sketches, photographs, and artifacts gathered within Khoa Vu's one year of travel research and study abroad. It is an ongoing developing framework that he is interested in within the field of architecture. Chapter II is the application of the framework to the actual design intervention: his master's thesis at Harvard Graduate School of Design in Spring 2019. Chapter III is a conversation between Khoa Vu and Samantha Vasseur (Harvard GSD, MArch 20',MDes 21'), after the thesis was completed. The conversation discusses about different readings and observations of the project as well as new possibilities to extend the investigation in the future.
