Without staying to enquire what may have been in the mind of the Founder when he gave his sanction to the selection of the name, or venturing to express any opinion as to the wisdom of its adoption, we are reminded by this official title that if our Magazine is to represent or to assist in developing the intellectual life of the place, it will be necessary to give a considerable share of our space to subject connected with the history, the progress, the objects, or the results of scientific work.
