Book excerpt: Excerpt from Proceedings of the Annual Sessions of the Texas Bar Association, 1906 The Bar Association of Arkansas: and the Bar Association of Texas met in joint session at the courthons of 'Miller county, Arkansas, on July 10, 1906. The Associations were called to order at 10 o'clock ai vb: Ht>n. Joseph M., Stay ton, President of the Arkansas Association; and Hon. H. M. Garwood, President of the Texas Association, jointly presiding. The proceedings were opened by an invocation of divine blessing by Rev. Jaa. Thomas, of Texarkana, Ark. President Stayton introduced to the audience Hon. W. H. Arnold, of Texarkana, Ark., Vice-President of the Arkansas Bar Association, who delivered the following address of welcome: Messrs. President and Gentlemen of the Arkansas and Texas Bar Associations: The members of the Bar Associations of Arkansas and Texas embrace a fair representation of the leaders of thought in every community, town and city of these two great commonwealths.
