Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this work is to evaluate the intemal mechanisms that can develop into raveling in OGFC mixtures. These mechanisms were evaluated by the development of mathematical modeling (continuum mechanics) in Abaqus CAE®. This work pretend to complement the works already developed (Table 2) trying to corroborate their results and givmg new recommendations to prevent earlier deterioration: raveling. In Other words, the principal idea of this this work is to acquire new information related to raveling mechanism, in this order, a new 2D micromechanical FE model was developed pretending to get over some simplifications that had been presented in older works (i.e. simplified geometry), trying to figure out under which conditions (i.g. load, temperature, moisture) raveling it's more susceptible to happen.
