The book is the first comprehensive work on Palaearctic Notodontidae since the famous Seitz work nearly a century ago. It covers in detail each of the approximately 520 species known from the Palaearctic Region. In the systematic part of the volume, each species is dealt with in the following format: scientific name with synonyms, diagnosis, dionomics, and distribution. There is a distribution map for each species on which non-palaearctic distribution is also shown. The book includes genitalia photos of the male and female of each species. On the high quality color plates, specimens are illustrated, covering the individual variety of the species, as well as the variation between female and male.
