Book excerpt: Unique among the extant works on visiting tombs, the Muhaddib al-talibin ila qubur al-Salihin (The Educator for Seekers of Tombs of the Pious), by Ibn al-Gabbas (d. after 736/1336) is the only book that is organised by generations (rabaqat). This critical edition is based on a rare manuscript copied in Egypt and restored by Sihab al-Din b. al-'Agami', the historian and visitor (d. 1086/1675) who owned it. We do not know precisely when it was moved to al-Zawiya al-Nasiriyya, in southeastern Morocco.
