Book excerpt: Baryon and hybrid baryon wave functions were built from harmonic oscillator basis states with explicit flavor and color. The Relativized Constituent Quark Model was extended to calculate more baryon states. Improvements were made to the Capstick and Isgur model to handle baryons with three unequal mass quarks and calculate the three-body confinement term exactly. Using a better Moshinsky coefficient implementation, it was possible to calculate H13 and H23 for three unequal mass quarks. Parameters were fitted to a small number of ground state baryon masses and isospin symmetry violating mass differences. The model agrees well with the full experimental ground state baryon spectrum and mass splittings. The Capstick and Isgur model was extended by calculation of the masses and isospin-symmetry violating mass differences of baryons with multiple heavy quarks, as well as the masses of charge states that have not been observed in experiments. Isospin violating mass differences were calculated for low lying negative parity baryons, which have recently been observed experimentally for some heavy-quark baryons, and some which may become experimentally accessible in the future.
