The book comprises eight sections, each dealing with one aspect of management: management's role and priorities; the establishment of goals and strategies; economic and social evaluation of projects; promotion and innovation; development of small-scale enterprises; financial management; organization and staff development; and government and development bank relations. Each section opens with an introduction by the editors, highlighting the relation of the various issues confronting management and the role of management in dealing with them. Most of these essays were originally prepared for a two-week seminar sponsored by EDI in February 1979.
