Book excerpt: "Danny Robins' play 2:22 - A Ghost Story is a theatrical spine-chiller that explores our fascination with the supernatural in a world where rationality and technology coincide with an enduring and widespread belief in ghosts. It was first performed at the Noël Coward Theatre, London, on 11 August 2021 (previews from 3 August). The play is set in a London house newly belonging to Jenny and Sam, a married couple in their thirties who have recently moved in with their baby Phoebe. But something feels frightening and wrong: over the baby monitor, at 2:22 every night, Jenny hears footsteps around her daughter's cot. She has come to think that the house must be haunted, to the scorn of her husband Sam, who has plenty of rational arguments for why ghosts cannot exist. When their friends Lauren and Ben come round for a housewarming dinner, they drink wine, relive their pasts, and argue about the existence of ghosts... and then decide to stay up until 2:22, to discover the truth"--About the play.
