It is a highly valued natural resource and it is referred as “green gold” as it meets the vast needs of human populace. It has been used in making of chairs, beds, tables, and even walls. Bamboo is also the only source of food for animals like the Giant Panda and the Red Panda, which live in the dense bamboo forests in Asia. But what makes bamboo one of the most important plants for nature as well as for our basic needs? Let us know about this wonderful grass up close! In this book, first we will learn bamboo- its sustainable development, as renewable resources and food, followed by its biotechnological application and Commercial Production in Aakash Green Research Pvt. Ltd. Then we are going to go back in time, over thousands of years, to see how ancient civilizations and cultures used bamboo, following which we will read upon the benefits of using bamboo.
